Suffolk Summer League 2010 Round 2 Report

Tuesday, 01 June 2010 13:37

On Saturday at Bungay in the second round of the Suffolk Summer League, Great Yarmouth could make little headway against the other teams and finished in a disappointing fifth position. Lowestoft & O/B 221, Stowmarket 196, Deben 174, Beccles 172 and Great Yarmouth 144 points.

Alexander Goff swimming his best yet in two thrilling races beat off the opposition for a first in the 11/u Freestyle and a second in the Fly. Isaac Kirby continues to romp home, winning both the 12/u Freestyle and Fly. Jack Utting easily won the 13/u Backstroke but had to be content with second place in the I/M. Fourth places came from Callum Stannard 10/u Breastroke, Jack Colby 11/u Breastroke, George Yusuff 12/u Breastroke and Declan Scott 12/u Freestyle.

The best result for the girls came from Danielle Page 11/u Freestyle and Laura Loveland 12/u Breastroke, who both fought hard for their second places. Lauren James in her first Freestyle did well to get a third place as did Emily Driver in the Backstroke. Adelaide Loveland swam well for her third place in the 12/u Freestyle, her times continue to fall. Fourth places came from Taylor Hudson 11/u Backstroke, Paige Lovage 13/u Freestyle and Ellie Holden I/M.

If we are to avoid relegation we need to get away from these fourth and fifth places and get a good result in the third round.
