Suffolk Summer League 2010 Round 1 Report

On Saturday at Deben in the the first round of the Suffolk Junior League, Great Yarmouth finished fourth with Lowestoft&Outon Broad winning the Gala on 211 points, Beccles 186, Stowmarket 181, Great Yarmouth 162 and Deben 143.
Jenna Utting swimming in her first team gala and in an age group above, turned in a superb 50m Fly swim to win in a excellent time of 42.91. Lauren James got another first place under her belt winning the 10/u Breastroke with a well controlled swim. Laura Loveland was the only other girl to gain a first place holding off the Lowestoft swimmer with great determination. Amelia Driver up with the leaders from the start in the 50m Feestyle could not hang on to first place and finished second. Adelaide Loveland suffered a similar fate with a second place in the 12/u Freestyle. Emily Loveland, Feestyle, Grace Baxter, Freestyle, and Danielle Page all came third in close races.

For the boys Isaac Kirby and Jack Utting achieved first places, Isaac, Freestyle and Fly, Jack, Backstroke and I/M. There were no second places but spirited swims from Jack Collins, Fly and Alexander Goff, Fly got them third places. James Walker, Backstroke and Declan Scott, Freestyle both came in with personal best times for their third places.

Team members, Loretta Askew, Taylor Hudson, Chloe Beddows, Daizy Parker, Rebecca Spry, Paige Loveland, Ellie Holden, Joshua Ford, Aaron Hudson, Miles Houghton, Jake Honey, Thomas Clarke, George Yusuff, George Mann, James Mann and Patrick Manning all gave their best in this closely fought competition.
