Kings Lynn Open 2010 Report

Tuesday, 08 June 2010 08:27

On Sunday, 25 swimmers from Great Yarmouth took part in the Kings Lynn Open Meet. With age groups ranging from 9yrs up to 15 plus Great Yarmouth achieved 52 placings in the first six.

Jenna Utting led the way for the girls in the 9yrs winning the I/M, second places in Backstroke and Freestyle and a third in the Breastroke. Danielle Page was unlucky to miss out in the 11yrs Breastroke but got a good second place. Lauren James continues to develop as a Breastroke swimmer with a good third place for the 10yrs. The ever reliable Charlie Smith in a strong age group 15 plus did well to get four fourth positions, Breastroke, Backstroke, Fly. and I/M. Amelia Driver with a much improved Fly stroke came fourth for the 10yrs. Taylor Hudson in the 11yrs Breastroke and Emily Acland 10yrs I/M both did well for their fifth places. Good to see chatty Isobel Robbins get amongst the places with a new PB for her fifth place 10yrs Backstroke.

Jack Utting and Isaac Kirby were both in the same age group, but Jack was in fine form and took all five races in the 12yrs. Isaac for all his valiant efforts had to be content with five second places. Connor Webster battled hard to catch the lead swimmer in the 14yrs Fly and Backstroke but was just touched out. He also got two third places, Freestyle and I/M. Aaron Hudson swam his best Fly yet for a second in the 9yrs with a new P/B. Miles Houghton in the 9yrs got three third places Backstroke, I/M, and Breastroke. Tom Smith managed a fourth in the 15 plus Fly and there were fifth places for Jack Collins 10yrs Fly and Declan Scott 13yrs Breastroke.

Other swimmers taking part were Beth Symonds, Atlanta Jarvis, Kioni Broomfield and BrandonTennant.
