Sunday saw the first round of the C.H Beckett League at the Great Yarmouth High School with Great Yarmouth Blue finishing first with 157 points, North Norfolk Vikings 126, Great Yarmouth White 116, Long Stratton114 and Harleston 57.
The 9yrs races saw two first places for Emma Gordon, Freestyle and Backstroke and a clear win for Jessica Hudson in the Breastroke. Honey Harvey in Freestyle and Backstroke just missed out on first place. Billy Heseltine was in top form, swimming way out in front to win the Breastroke and Backstroke. Samuel Skuse at last got his dive right for a first place in the Freestyle but Ryan Webb in a close finish was second in the Backstroke.
For the 10/u Tamzin Freeman led the way with two fine wins Freestyle and Backstroke. Natsha Mansfield-Holly with a fast time came first in the Fly but Kia Buller was not far behind for her second place. Joshua Smith came good with a Freestyle win. In the Backstroke Luis Boulton and Morgan Clarke both recorded the same time but Luis was judged the winner.
Kioni Broomfield, swimming in the 11/u came from behind to win the Backstroke but Emily Loveland could not catch the Vikings swimmer in the Breastroke.
Liam Hanley does not get any bigger but his swimming improves every week, two first places Freestyle and Breastroke. Jack Collins was a clear winner in the Backstroke.
In the 13/u age group Serena Matthews was the only first place swimmer, winning the 50yds Backstroke but close second places came from Thomas Clarke, Breastroke and Fly.
Third places came from Hermoine Parker, Lily Johnson, Kathleen Alyward, Lauren Cotton, Isobel Robbins, Olivia Heseltine, Tommy Chandler, Charlie Beck, Ashvin Seetul, Luke Daine, Mark Stinton, Daniel Russell, and Jamie King.
