Swimming in the third round of the Arena National Swimming League, Great Yarmouth finished fourth. They had to put out a below strengh team because of a clash with an intercounties gala and a number of call offs. Well done to all those swimmers, officials, and parents who made the journey to Loughborough.
Result- Loughborough 157, Wellingborough 133, Market Harborough 101, Great Yarmouth 89.
The 11/u girls saw Amelia Driver open with a good first place in the 50m Backstroke, Third places came from Clarissa Burwood Breaststroke, and Natasha Mansfield-Holly, Fly. Hannah Ingham swimming up an age group finished fourth in the Freestyle. The boys saw Joseph Windsor Feeman continue his good form winning the 50m Breaststroke, Jack Collins got third in the Freestyle and Ryan Webb swimming in his first Arena gala come fourth in the Fly.
Nadia Wright in the 14/u age group was a clear winner in the Backstroke and Katherine Turton away from the Breaststroke came in second in the Freestyle and a new P.B. Lauren James, Breastsroke and Bethany Burwood, Fly both had third places. The boys had to be content with third places, Jake Honey, Freestyle and Backstroke, Alexander Goff, Fly, and Charlie Killick Catchpole, Breaststroke.
The 15/u girls although giving of their best found tough opposition fouth places coming from Paige Lovage Freestyle, Ellie Holden Backstroke, Aelaide Loveland Breaststroke, Isobel Postle Fly.
The Open girls fought hard to gain points with third slots coming from the old firm of Charlie Smith, Backstroke, I/M and Grace Hubbard Freestyle. India Loveland, Breaststroke and Olivia Smith, Fly, were close on the heels of the leaders but both finished in fourth place. The boys were the most succesful age group with Jordan Purdy leaving the rest in his wake to win the 100m Freestyle. Oliver Postle was unlucky to miss out on first spot finishing second in the Fly and I/M. Lawrence King had his best yet with a new P.B and second place in the Backstroke, Brandon Tennant followed suit with a third in the Breaststroke.
