Monday, 11 May 2009 00:00

On Sunday, twenty nine swimmers from GYSC took part in the King's Lynn Open swimming meet. They achieved a total of 8 first places, 12 second places, 10 third places and 12 fourth places.

Jack Utting took first place in all four strokes and the 100 IM.First places also came from Connor Webster backstroke, Laura Loveland breast-stroke and Grace Hubbard in freestyle. Isaac Kirby was unlucky not to gain a first place, but achieved second place in all five of his events for the U11's. Emily Acland, against strong opposition, did very well to get her two second places in breast-stroke and fly with a third in backstroke. Zöe Prettyman also managed two second places in breast-stroke and fly with a third in the 100 IM. Adelaide Loveland in freestyle and Megan Newman in backstroke found tough opposition in their races, but both paced themselves well to come through in second place. All races were of a good standard with a large number of entries. The third places from Aaron Hudson backstroke and 100 IM, Jake Honey backstroke, Tom Smith 100 IM, Charlie Smith breaststroke and fourth places from Danielle Page breast-stroke, Emily Pestka fly and Declan Scott 100 IM were all excellent efforts.
