GYSC Swim 21 Accreditation

Monday, 31 August 2009 12:06

swim_21The Great Yarmouth Swimming Club has achieved Swim 21 accreditation.

Swim 21 is the ASA Club Development Programme. It is designed to help a swimming club reach it's full potential in effective club and athlete management. The club has been assessed in it's achievements in Compliance, Workforce and Athlete Development, in areas which include Legislation, Communications, Health and Safety, Development and many others. It has been a very large undertaking requiring a large amount of effort and the club is very much indebted to those members who have guided it through this process.0114115026-0-115358-0-custom26196500

Swim 21 is a 'Quality mark'. It recognises nationally and regionally the clubs that are committed to providing safe, effective and quality services for the benefit of their members.

In achieving Swim 21 status the Great Yarmouth Swimming Club is also awarded the Sport England 'Club Mark'.

Sport England describes Club Mark as "It recognises and values the commitment made by sports clubs to develop high quality, welcoming environments for young participants. The development of clubs that encourage young people to take-up sport, improve their talents, possibly play a leadership role and give them the option to initiate and maintain life-long participation in sport is an essential part of supporting the sporting infrastructure in England".
