Tesco Vouchers

We are a little late to the party but the swimming club has registered with the 'TESCO for Schools & Clubs' scheme. If you have any of these vouchers in your kitchen drawers and would like to benefit the club then please bring them along to a swimming session and we will do the rest. Key dates are Sunday 9th May 2010, the last vouchers will be issued by TESCO and Friday 28th May 2010 when we would like to submit all our collected vouchers.

Cape Cup Success

Great Yarmouth Swimming Club retained the Cape Cup in an exciting competition held last weekend. The team from Deben were unable to attend but the team from Beccles gave our swimmers some good competition. All the teams enjoyed enthusiastic support throughout the evening, the Phoenix Pool creating an ideal atmosphere. It was evident just how competitive the current Great Yarmouth Squad swimmers are, they looked very confident and are proving to be extremely difficult to beat. GYSC Appoints its First Professional Coach

The Great Yarmouth Swimming Club has just appointed Garry Jarvis as its first professional coach. Garry is well known to the swimmers as he has taken on the role of Chief Coach, in a voluntary capacity, for the last two years. Speaking at the signing of Garry's contract, Club Chairman Paola Moore said "The club is hugely indebted to all the past Coaches who have worked on a voluntary basis and contributed so much to the club over such a long period of time. The role of Chief Coach today is a huge undertaking and with Garry, who has achieved so much with the club, we know we have someone who will deliver excellent coaching to our swimmers". Garry will take up his appointment on the first of April 2010.
