Arena Swimming League - 2011 - Round 2

The Great Yarmouth Swimming Club sent a team to Peterborough on Saturday to compete in the second round of this years National Arena Swimming League. Drawn against two of the biggest teams in the region it was always going to be a tough challenge but the team did an excellent job just losing their third place in the final two races.
Age Groups for Charity

The Great Yarmouth Swimming Club are supporting the Leah Wilby Foundation at this years Age Group Championships. The proceeds from the door receipts and the proceeds from a collection to be held on the Sunday evening will be given to this local charity which is fundraising to provide a holiday home in the locality for use by children with cancer. Leah was a former member of the club who sadly passed away this year at the age of 15 years.

Sorry for being unable to produce the Club Championship Results in a timely fashion. Here are the recorder sheets for the 2 days which will give you the placings and results you obtained except for the novice trophy results which are subject to approval by the Trophy Officer.
Club Swimmers Selected for the County

Congratulations to to fourteen swimmers from the club that have been selected to represent the County. They are Honey Harvey, Jenna Utting, Atlanta Jarvis, Taylor Hudson, Nadia Wright, Kelly Pywell, Jake Honey, Oliver Tedstone, Alexander Goff, Jack Utting, Isaac Kirby, Connor Webster, Tom Smith and Daniel Henderson. Also gaining Norfolk representation is Charlie Smith who has been selected to swim for the Norfolk County A.S.A Masters Team. Well done to you all.
Oliver wins the Ulph Cup

Oliver Postle is presented with the Ulph cup by the Mayor of Great Yarmouth, Barry Coleman accompanied by the Lady Mayoress and the Club Chairman.
Oliver was the only entrant who braved the 1000 metre swim and encouraged by the large number of spectators and fellow club athletes he completed the swim with style and a fast time of 12:20.23.
