2010 Norwich & Peterborough Gala Results

Last night Great Yarmouth Swimming Club were delighted to welcome the swimmers from Dereham, Leiston, Beccles and Long Stratton to the the Phoenix Pool for the 2010 N&P Gala. Dereham Otters were the worthy winners on the night with 173 points but with some fine swims, Great Yarmouth managed a secure second place with 159 points. Thanks must go to all the swimmers for their efforts, the spectators for their enthusiastic support and the officials who managed to ensure the gala proceeded at a good pace.

Simpsons Sponsor GYSC Car

Chief Coach Garry Jarvis took delivery this week of a brand new Skoda car which has been kindly supplied by Simpsons Motors of Great Yarmouth. As can be seen in the photograph the car features the club logo which is prominently and imaginatively displayed, ensuring that Garry now has some of the most stylish wheels in town. A handover ceremony is due soon which will be fully reported here.

Suffolk Summer League 2010 Round 2 Results

It was tough going all round at the Suffolk Summer League Round 2 gala. Facing the top swimmers from the competing clubs it was always going to be difficult to get the points. Chief Coach Garry Jarvis said "It turned out to be quite a tough gala but I am pleased that the team  managed to get another 16 personal best times".

Breckland Cup Gala Results

The team travelled to Dereham this weekend to compete in the Breckland Cup. Against the teams from West Norfolk, Dereham, Norwich Swans, Halstead and Beccles we managed to finish in a creditable fourth place and with the team producing a fantastic 26 P.B's we could not have asked for more from them.
