Team Gy Win N&P Cup
Saturday, 13 June 2009 21:59
Team Gy won the Norwich & Peterbro' Cup last night with a convincing performance against their rival teams at the Phoenix Pool. It was the depth of talent throughout the squad that enabled the team to ease into the lead after the first few events and then keep the points total steadily climbing ahead of their nearest rivals. report and resultsSuffolk League Results

On Sunday a large contingent of swimmers from Team GY travelled to Kings Lynn to take part in the open meet arranged by the Kings Lynn Warriors Swimming Club. This prestigious event always attracts some of the best swimmers in the area so it was a great credit to the team that they were able to leave the competition with 8 first places, 12 second places, 10 third places and 12 fourth places.
Club Championship 1st. Round
Saturday, 16 May 2009 21:48
Saturday night saw the first round of the club championships held at the Phoenix Pool. The move to a Saturday and open meet commitments on the Sunday meant a slightly reduced number of entries but for those who did enter the competition it was as tough and exciting as ever. It was nice to see two ex GYSC swimmers back at the Phoenix as Callum McColgan and Ben Johnson competed against each other for the Ulph Cup. This magnificent trophy was awarded to Callum by the Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Great Yarmouth. Round two of the Club Championship will be held on the 11 July 2009 entries close two weeks before.
C H Beckett Trophy 1st Round
Sunday, 03 May 2009 17:00
A very successful first round of the C H Beckett trophy was held this Sunday morning at the High School Pool. A lot of effort had been spent to ensure a warm welcome for the visiting teams which unfortunately was undermined by a lack of available seats for the large number of spectators. The swimming however was first rate with some swimmers braving their first Gala. By the time of the final race with Rod Hacking as the announcer encouraging the crowd the screaming and shouting from the teams and parents was deafening. Aylsham Vikings were worthy winners with the next and final round to be held in November.
