High School Pool - Remains Closed

Due to problems with the pool heating system we are unable to use the pool. The latest information that the Club has received indicates that the pool will remain closed until Monday 6th February 2012.

Jo Qualifies as a Referee

Congratulations to Jo Banham who has successfully completed her training to become a referee. The course, which is extremely demanding involves many hours of study and training as well as an intensive written and practical assessment which Jo passed with flying colours. It is a long time since the Great Yarmouth Swimming Club had the benefit of a referee in it's list of Swimming Officials so we are all extremely proud of her achievement.

Postal Swim

The club will be taking part in the International Postal Swim which is organised by the British Long Distance Swimming Association.

Swimmers have the opportunity to see how many lengths of the pool they can complete during a one hour period and the results are 'posted' to the association who then make the awards.

The GYSC will be holding their swim at the Great Yarmouth High School Pool on Sunday 22nd January 2012 between 10.00 and 12.30pm. All our swimmers are invited to attend and see how far they can swim in an hour or swim for longer to achieve their distance awards which will be available on the day.

Entry is £4.00, please see Garry or Kim and a degree of parental involvement is required in counting the swimmers lengths.

The Masters session will be doing their Postal Swim on Thursday 19th January.
